Headlining In April: Sydney Adeniyi
Sydney Adeniyi is a Nigerian-American comedian from Belleville IL, a small city near St. Louis MO. At an early age, Sydney found a knack for making people laugh by improvising jokes for friends and family. He took his talent to stage a few years after graduating college. Now, he startles audience’s funny bone with satirical and curious material with a touch of mischief. Sydney’s likable, relaxed and engaging comedy breaks the mold while being uniquely original and fun.
Sydney appeared on the TV show “Laugh Out Loud St. Louis”, the movie “Sad Café”, He is the winner of “The Best of The Best” Chicago comedy contest and a featured performer in “Eddison Park Comedy Fest”. Sydney writes and produces content for sydneyadeniyi.com and teaches comedy at McKay Arts Theater.
Feature: James Vickery
James has been doing stand-up in and around Chicago and the Midwest since 2005. A graduate of the Second City Conservatory Program and iO Chicago, he first began hitting comedy clubs as part of the musical duo, The Warm-Ups, who would awkwardly wow audiences while wearing full-fledged track outfits. As a solo stand-up, James has performed at clubs such as Zanies, Acme Comedy Co. in Minneapolis and the Ann Arbor Showcase with names such as Emo Philips, Gilbert Gottfried and Jeff Garlin. He brings his experience as an improviser, actor, writer and one-time professional clown to the stage to share stories about relationships, work, city life and dancing (important note: the dancing part is very much not true, as he was unfortunately born with zero sense of natural rhythm).
